What is Geomancy?

Geomancy literally translates as "earth reading" - a way of understanding subtle energetic patterns that reveal a place’s memory, rhythms, imbalances and potential.

The western tradition is centuries old, with roots in the Arabic tradition and Byzantium. Its eastern counterparts, Vaastu and Feng Shui, can be traced back thousands of years and are still taken seriously today.

Why it matters

There is a correlation between the health of land and the wellbeing of people. Modern geomancy is often used to reduce or avoid adverse effects linked to disturbed earth energies (sometimes described as geopathic stress).

Through careful assessment we identify and soften disruptive influences while amplifying those that support balance and vitality.

How we work

This may include mapping water lines and energetic grids, then applying respectful interventions — from placement and orientation changes to earth acupuncture, sacred objects, or creating a labyrinth where appropriate.

Every recommendation is grounded, practical, and tailored to your site and needs.

Who it’s for

Homeowners, landowners and small sites across Kent, Sussex, Surrey and the wider South East looking for a calmer, healthier, more supportive home and garden.

No. Geomancy does not require belief or spiritual practice. Many clients simply want a deeper understanding of why a space feels unsettled or why plants, people or projects struggle in certain areas.

Yes. Geomancy can complement garden and landscape design by informing layout, orientation and placement decisions. It works well alongside conventional design approaches and often enhances their effectiveness.

Not at all. Geomancy can be applied to small gardens, urban plots, courtyards and even individual buildings. Every site has its own energetic character, regardless of size.
